So I just got back from a field lab for my Aquatic Ecology course. So friggin awesome. We spent 2 days out in the middle of lakes, streams, and rivers, collecting all sorts of samples. Totally like, when I was 8 and took buckets out to the river and just filled the whole thing up with water, and took it home to check out all the living things in it! Except this was for school.
The one regret, is not bringing my camera. I was totally fearful of dropping it into the water and convinced myself not to bring it - but we actually spent a lot of time hiking around and such as well, and the scenery was amazing. We found this wicked swimming hole, as well. Frig.
I almost became a country girl this weekend. Probably cause of all the sweet invertebrate s we found, and all the dragonflies getting busy. And more so, cause I didn't fall ONCE this weekend, even while jumping on rocks through the river and all my makeshift-bridges, in boots way too big for me. Though, I did bump my head and almost fall backwards out of the van...
Surgery was a friggin letdown! I was all stoked to be all "gangstered" up, ala Earth Crisis, but no avail. I got got a bunch of stitches, a whole lot of blood, swelling and bruises... and well. A lot of whipping twigs to it, as well, from hiking. Sweet.
